Got some suggestions and tips from different people and I tried to apply many of them here.

Started, really, as scribbles. I like the anatomy if this cat, so I may make him a character.

I like that it's 3D. You can see the snowflakes that are closer and farther. I like the shadows on his face.

i don't like the latter, as i'm sure it's not realistic. i tried not to use black at all and it seems so...bright to me. especially compared to my last piece
